Atorvastatin is a hypolipidemic (cholesterol lowering) drug of the class known as statins. It is a selective inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase.

Atorvastatin can be prescribed for patients with coronary artery disease, diabetes mellitus, peripheral vascular disease, and a history of cerebrovascular disease (stroke), who have high levels of fat in the blood, in order to reduce the risk of death from coronary artery disease, reduce the likelihood of nonfatal myocardial infarction (heart attack) and stroke, and reduce the need for coronary and non-coronary revascularization procedures. Atorvastatin can also be used by young people suffering from familial (heritable) hypercholesterolemia.

Atorvastatin should be used along with proper diet and physical exercises and only when other dietary and physical hypolipidemic attempts have failed. Continue reading →

Ciprofloxacin is a synthetic antibiotic of the second-generation fluoroquinolone drug class.

Ibuprofen is a drug of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory group (NSAID).

It can be prescribed for patients who suffer of pain, fever and inflammation. The main indications for the Ibuprofen that can be used as monotherapy or as auxiliary medicine are fever, headache, migraine, toothache, neuralgia, myalgia, arthritis (rheumatoid, juvenile, infectious, traumatic, podagric, psoriatic), osteoarthrosis,  ankylosing spondylitis, radiculitis,  bursitis, tendovaginitis, traumas, gout, respiratory diseases, adnexitis, dysmenorrhea, patent ductus arteriosus in newborn, proctitis.

Dexamethasone is a steroid hormonal drug of the glucocorticoid class. Its main effects are anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive. Dexamethasone can be used in different formulations: solution for injections, tablets, emulsions, eye- and eardrops and nasal spray.

Besides Dexamethasone is used for altitude sickness treatment, nausea prophylaxis in a case of cytostatic therapy (antiemetic effect), to help prevent transplant rejection and lower blood calcium levels in people with bone cancers, in women at risk of preterm delivery and to prevent RDS in premature infants, and in some dental surgaries (extraction of the wisdom teeth)
